The Fit Person Interview is a substantive part of CQC registration, not a formality. We prepare Registered Managers and Nominated Individuals through realistic, scenario-based practice built around your actual service -- not a script to memorise.
What this covers
The Fit Person Interview exists to assess whether you genuinely understand how your specific service will operate safely -- not to test recall of a fixed answer key. Preparation that only reviews definitions and regulation text tends to fall short of what the interview actually requires: the ability to explain, specifically and in your own words, how your service handles safeguarding, medication, staffing, complaints and governance.
We can't guarantee a specific interview outcome, and no genuine advisor should claim to. What we can do is make sure you go in having genuinely thought through the situations most likely to come up, in the context of your own service.
What we cover
How it works
We talk through your service, your background, and which of the theme areas are likely to need the most preparation time.
We work through safeguarding, medication, staffing, complaints and governance, building out specific scenarios relevant to your actual service.
A realistic practice interview, covering the same theme areas CQC's own interview is built around.
Specific, honest feedback on where answers need more depth or specificity, with focused follow-up practice on the weakest areas.
A last review closer to your actual interview date, to confirm you're genuinely ready to explain your service in your own words.
What to expect
There is no verified, official published list of CQC interview questions, and we won't pretend to have one -- any resource claiming to offer "real leaked questions" should be treated with real scepticism. What genuinely helps is understanding the theme areas the interview covers and being able to speak to your own service specifically and credibly within each one.
CQC makes the final decision on every interview and every application; preparation improves readiness, it does not guarantee an outcome. See our guide on what the Fit Person Interview actually involves for the full picture.
FAQ
Whether you genuinely understand how your specific service will operate safely -- covering safeguarding, medication management, staffing, complaints and governance -- rather than testing rote knowledge of regulations.
No -- there is no verified, official published list, and we won't present invented questions as real. Preparation focuses on genuine theme areas and scenario-based practice specific to your service instead.
No -- CQC makes the final decision on every interview, and no genuine advisor can guarantee that outcome. Preparation improves readiness; it doesn't guarantee a result.
Yes -- the Nominated Individual's interview focuses more on oversight and governance than day-to-day operational detail, and we prepare for that distinct focus specifically.
This varies by how much preparation time you have and how ready you feel after the first mock interview -- we build in feedback and a further practice round where it would genuinely help.
Memorising definitions rather than being able to explain, specifically, how their own service actually handles each area -- generic textbook answers tend to be identifiable as such by experienced interviewers.
